§ 1-15. Processing fees imposed on certain persons.

(a)

Pursuant to the provisions of Code of Virginia § 15.2-1613.1, every person who is convicted of a criminal offense in Botetourt County, and who is thereafter admitted to the Botetourt County Jail, shall pay a processing fee of twenty-five dollars ($25.00). The fee shall be ordered as a part of court costs, collected by the clerk, and deposited into the account of the treasurer. Such fees shall be held by the treasurer subject to appropriation by the board of supervisors to the sheriff's office for costs related to processing arrested persons.

(b)

This section shall become effective on July 1, 2002.
