§ 1-16. Court security fee imposed on convicted persons.

(a)

Pursuant to the provisions of Code of Virginia § 53.1-120, every person who is convicted of a criminal and/or traffic offense in Botetourt County shall pay a courtroom security fee of ten dollars ($10.00). The fee shall be ordered as a part of court costs, collected by the clerk, and deposited into the account of the treasurer. Such fees shall be held by the treasurer subject to appropriation by the board of supervisors to the sheriff's office for the funding of courthouse security personnel.
